We are Jani and Steff, and we have been asked to take care of the awareness structures at WCC 2026.

Self-introduction

STEFF (no pronouns)
Since 2019, involved in awareness work in various contexts (parties, demonstrations, political groups, associations, sports). Attended more than 10 workshops on awareness, and facilitated some as well. Speaks German and English.

{trans / survivor of childhood sexual assault / agender / socially raised male & corresponding privileges / rarely affected by trans misogyny / thin / athletic / white / able-bodied / financially stable}

JANI (they / neutral pronouns)
Languages: German, English, Danish, Spanish (okay), French (so-so)

I have been engaging with discrimination for over 10 years in my free time, education, and professional life. I have been doing awareness work since 2020/21 in the Jugger community and occasionally at other events.

My own experiences with discrimination mainly come from being a non-binary trans* person. Apart from that, I am quite privileged—for example, I am white, have a strong European passport, few physical limitations, a body close to "societal norms", good access to education, and sufficient financial resources.

Call for participation

For a functioning awareness team at WCC, we need volunteers from the community who can imagine being available as awareness contacts during the tournament weekend. If you would like to participate, please send us a message (email: awareness@wcc2026.de) with a short text about yourself, and optionally any questions or wishes you may have.
At the moment, it is still being clarified with the organizers how much funding will be available as compensation. As soon as there is a fixed budget, it will be distributed transparently and in a spirit of solidarity.

An awareness concept for WCC 2026 will follow soon. If you would like to contribute to it, feel free to contact us as well.

Wir sind Jani und Steff und wir wurden angefragt, uns um die Awarenessstrukturen auf der WCC 2026 zu kümmern.

Selbstvorstellung

STEFF (keine Pronomen)
Seit 2019 Awarenessarbeit in verschiedenen Kontexten (Partys, Demos, Politgruppen, Vereine, Sport). Mehr als 10 Workshops zum Thema Awareness besucht, einige selbst gehalten. Spricht Deutsch und Englisch.

Ich beschäftige mich seit über 10 Jahren in Freizeit, Ausbildung und Beruf mit Diskriminierung. Awarenessarbeit mache ich seit 2020/21 im Juggerbereich und manchmal auch auf anderen Veranstaltungen.

Eigene Erfahrung mit Diskriminierung mache ich vor allem als nichtbinäre trans* Person. Abseits davon bin ich ziemlich privilegiert - z.B. bin ich weiß, habe einen starken europäischen Pass, wenig körperliche Beschwerden und einem "norm-nahen" Körper, viel Zugang zu Bildung und ausreichend Zugang zu Geld.

Aufruf zum Mitmachen

Für ein funktionierendes Awarenessteam bei der WCC brauchen wir Freiwillige aus der Community, die sich vorstellen können, an dem Turnierwochenende als Awarenesspersonen ansprechbar zu sein. Wenn ihr gerne mitmachen würdet, schreibt uns eine Nachricht (email:awareness@wcc2026.de) mit einem kurzen Text zu euch und gerne auch Fragen und Wünschen, wenn vorhanden.
Zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt ist mit der Orga noch in Klärung, wie viel Geld als Aufwandsentschädigung zur Verfügung steht. Sobald es ein festes Budget gibt, wird das transparent und solidarisch aufgeteilt.

Ein Awarenesskonzept für die WCC 2026 folgt zeitnah. Wenn ihr daran mitarbeiten wollt, schreibt uns auch gern.

Idiomas: alemán, inglés, danés, español (okay), francés (comme ci comme ca) Desde hace más de 10 años me dedico al tema de la discriminación en mi tiempo libre, formación y trabajo. Hago trabajo de awareness desde 2020/21, primero en el Jugger y desde algunos años también en otros contextos. Experimento discriminación principalmente como persona trans* no binaria. Más allá de eso, tengo bastantes privilegios: por ejemplo, soy blance, tengo un pasaporte europeo fuerte, pocas limitaciones físicas, un cuerpo "cercano a la norma", buen acceso a la educación y suficientes recursos económicos.

Buscamos voluntaries! We are currently working on securing the "Kinder- und Jugendbauernhof Nickern" again as an option for overnight stays. The farm is located a bit outside the city and has offered space for camping in previous years.
Please note that public transport connections are limited, so you’ll likely need a car to get there.
We’ll let you know as soon as we have more detailed information about available capacity.

Regarding team size:
You can bring as many people as you like. If your group has more than ten players, please decide before each game which ten will play and inform the referees and the opposing team.

We are currently refining the rules. It will not be purely the German or Spanish rule set — instead, it will combine elements from several systems.

+++SONSTIGES+++

Wir arbeiten daran, den Kinder- und Jugendbauernhof wieder für Übernachtungen gewinnen zu können. Der KJB Nickern liegt etwas außerhalb und bot uns in den vergangenen Jahren schon die Möglichkeit, Zelte aufzuschlagen. Die Anbindung mit dem ÖPNV ist leider nicht so gut, sodass man mehr oder weniger auf ein Auto angewiesen ist.
Sobald wir genauere Infos über die Kapazitäten geben können, lassen wir es euch wissen.

Da die Frage zur Teamgröße mehrfach aufkam: Ihr dürft mit so vielen Personen anreisen, wie ihr wollt. Sollten es mehr als 10 sein, bestimmt ihr vor jedem Spiel maximal 10 Personen, die spielen dürfen, und teilt diese den Schiris und dem gegnerischen Team mit.

Wir arbeiten derzeit die Regeln aus. Es wird kein reines deutsches oder spanisches Regelwerk werden, sondern es werden Aspekte aus verschiedenen Regelwerken einfließen.

Our first deadline has passed, and we still have open spots available. We can now confirm that we will have 120 starting spots secured.
For this reason, there was no drawing. All teams that have registered so far will be able to participate!

What happens next?

1. To finalize your registration, you need to transfer the registration fee of €200. Teams whose payment has not been received by February 15, 2025, will be removed from the list.

2. Registration remains open. Teams registering later will simply be added to the end of the list and, if necessary, placed on the waiting list.
After July 31, 2026, no new registrations will be accepted, except in cases where a team takes over another team's spot.

3. The exact rule composition is currently under discussion. We expect to compile and finalize the rules during the first quarter. Please hold off on questions about this until that time.

4. We are currently planning a supporting program for the days before and after the WCC, as well as for the evenings themselves. If you are interested, please keep this in mind for your travel plans. More details will follow later.

5. Don’t forget about our call for logo and merchandise submissions.

unsere erste Deadline ist durch und wir haben noch offene Plätze. Wir können inzwischen sagen, dass wir 120 Startplätze sicher zur Verfügung haben werden.
Aus diesem Grund wurde nicht gelost. Alle Teams, die bisher angemeldet sind, können auch spielen!


Wie geht es nun weiter?

1. Um eure Anmeldung final abzuschließen, müsst ihr die Startgebühr von 200€ überweisen. Teams von denen am 15.02.2025 noch kein Geld eingegangen ist, werden wieder aus der Liste gelöscht.
Die Startgebühr wird an folgendes Konto überwiesen:

Solltet ihr Probleme mit der Überweisung haben oder ihr euch nicht sicher sein, ob das Geld rechtzeitig da ist, meldet euch gern bei uns.

Bitte habt Verständnis dafür, dass wir das Geld nicht zurückerstatten können, wenn ihr eure Anmeldung später zurückziehen solltet!
Falls sich ein anderes Team findet, dass euren Startplatz einnehmen möchte und eure Startgebühr übernehmen würde, sprecht das bitte mit diesen Teams direkt ab.

2. Die Anmeldung ist weiterhin offen. Teams die sich später registrieren, werden einfach ans Ende der Liste gesetzt und landen notfalls auf der Warteliste.
Nach dem 31.07.2026 werden keine neuen Anmeldungen mehr akzeptiert. Ausnahme ist, dass ein Team den Platz eines anderen Teams übernimmt.

3. Die genaue Regelzusammensetzung ist aktuell in Diskussion. Wir werden euch voraussichtlich im ersten Quartal die Regeln zusammenstellen und ausformulieren. Bitte geduldet euch mit Fragen dazu bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt.

4. Wir planen aktuell etwas Rahmenprogramm für die Tage vor/nach der WCC und natürlich für die Abende selbst. Falls ihr daran Interesse habt, behaltet das für eure Reiseplanung im Hinterkopf. Details dazu folgen später.

5. Denkt an unsere Ausschreibung für Logo und Merch.
